On 21 December 2021, The Egyptian Front monitored the SSSP’s decision to imprison Mohmmed Ali Khalil El-Hefnawy (83 Years old) for 15 days, in case No. 2207/2021 State Security, on accusations of Joining terrorism groups and Spreading false news, on a background of an inquiry from the national security of his association’s license.
El-Hefnawy had been called by the national security on 18 December, through a representative of them, who said to him at home that he should go to the National security headquarter in Al-Abassia (In the centre of Cairo). When El-Hefnawy arrived, met a Colonel there, who asked him about the licenses of his association: “The local development for the sons of El-Sheikh Saleh” in El-Khanka, El-Marg area (East Cairo), which El-Hefnawy confirmed that his association already legally exists, and he has the necessary licenses. After that, The colonel detained him, then delivered him to the national security agency in the El-Khanka area, where he was detained until he appeared before the prosecution on 21 December. It is worth noting that El-Hefnawy suffers from acute prostatitis, and his health is deteriorating due to his age
