SSSP imprisoned the labour leader Mohamed Hashim in Case No.184/2023 on accusations of joining and funding a terrorist group and publishing false news.

Yesterday, On January 28th, 2023, EFHR monitored that the Supreme State Security Prosecution (SSSP) imprisoned the labour leader Muhammad Hashem Farghali Soliman (58 years old – an employee of the Public Transport agency) for 15 days pending case No. 184/2023 on accusations of joining and funding a terrorist group, and spreading false news. Hashim appeared before SSSP after nine days after arresting from his home in the Hadayek al-Qobba area on January 19th, 2023, and the authorities seized computers and a photocopier from his house.
It is worth noting that Muhammad Hashem was brought before the Public Prosecution Office on January 26th on charges of practising a profession without a license. He was released on the same day from the Public Prosecution, but the police station did not implement the decision and remained in the police station until he appeared before the State Security Prosecution on January 28th.
