On January 2 2023, EFHR monitored that SSSP- Supreme State Security Prosecution imprisoned the citizen Akram Azmy Abdulaziz (49 years) for fifteen days pending Case No.2515/2022, on accusations of joining a banned terrorist group and spreading false news, and misusing of social media.
Akram appeared before the SSSP after four days of arrest by police officers in front of the Mansheya Court in Alexandria on December 28, 2022, after standing with a banner written on it (A trial of the Prime Minister’s for undermining the economy and borrowing from the IMF). It is worth noting that he was detained until appearing before the prosecution in an unknown place.
