The Supreme State Security Prosecution (SSSP) has decided to detain the politician and head of the Strong Egypt Party, Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh, in connection with Case No. 768 of 2020. He has been accused of leading a terrorist group and committing crimes related to financing terrorism.
This decision comes in light of accusations that he, along with other leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood, planned activities against the state from within his detention, conveyed messages indirectly, and held organizational meetings inside the prison.
The defendant has requested to postpone the investigation to a later date due to his health conditions.
