On 29 November 2025, the Supreme State Security Prosecution – SSSP referred Case No. 2469/2023 (State Security Registry), registered as No. 7445/2025 (State Security Felonies), and known in the media as the “Palestine Demonstrations Case,” to the Criminal Court. The case involves 14 defendants.
The referral comes in connection with their participation in a demonstration held on 13 October 2023 on the Corniche Street in Alexandria in solidarity with Palestine. All defendants were arrested from different locations across the governorate following their participation in the protest.
The prosecution charged them with:

Joining a terrorist group,

Participating with a terrorist group in achieving its objectives,

Taking part in an unlawful assembly of more than fifteen people that could endanger public safety.
The Supreme State Security Prosecution requested that the defendants be punished under:

Articles 137 bis and 137 of the Penal Code,

Articles 1 (a, b), 2(1), and 12(2) of Law No. 94 of 2015 on Combating Terrorism,

Articles 1, 2, and 3 of Law No. 10 of 1914 on the Crime of Unlawful Assembly.
A hearing date before the competent Criminal Court has not yet been set.
