The SSSP ordered the imprisonment of at least 65 people from different cities for calling citizens to demonstrate on 11/11, on charges including publishing false news and misusing social media platforms 

Over five days, between October 25 to October 30, 2022, The Egyptian Front for Human Rights monitored that Supreme State Security Prosecution (SSSP) ordered to imprisonment of no less than 65 citizens from Cities (Cairo, Alexandria, Ismailia, Al-Sharqiya, Al-Gharbiya, Al-Dakahlia, Al-Qalyubia, Suez, Beni Suef and El-Minya), in cases No. 1893/2022 and Case No.1691/2022 for fifteen days pending investigations on accusations of publishing false news, misusing social media platforms, joining a terrorist group to achieve its purposes, and incitement to commit a terrorist crime.

The first day was on October 10, 2022. Their arrest on them happened after they made videos on topics of high prices and the current economic crisis and called for citizens to participate in the demonstrations on November 11, in parallel with the holding of the Climate Conference in Egypt COP27. They shared these videos With a TV interviewer outside Egypt called Hossam Al-Ghamry, who was recently arrested in Turkey by the Turkish authorities before being released on October 30. The Egyptian authorities also arrested his son Youssef on October 25 and forcibly disappeared him so far.

It is worth noting that several defendants were detained after being arrested inside National Security Agency headquarters in their governorates for more than ten days, where they were interrogated about the content of the videos they had made.
