The Egyptian Front for Human Rights reported on October 22, 2023, that the Supreme State Security Prosecution (SSSP) has imprisoned 14 individuals from the Alexandria Governorate due to their participation in a protest in support of Palestine on Friday, October 20. They have been detained under Case No. 2469/2023, facing accusations of unlawful assembly, involvement in a terrorist group with the intent of furthering its objectives, and joining said group.
Most of the defendants were arrested following the protests. They were initially held in a security facility and were subsequently transferred to the National Security headquarters in the Smouha area before their appearance before the prosecution today.
